This Privacy Policy describes how Mikael Høiseth, operating as Høi Z ENK (org.nr. 924 425 407, Tamokveien 1427, 9334 Øverbygd, Norway) ("we", "us", "Daedalus") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Daedalus mobile application and the website at daedalus-app.no ("the service").

Daedalus uses your device location to log trip routes, attach hazards to map points, fetch local weather and avalanche forecasts, and provide accurate coordinates for emergency SOS. Location is collected only while the app is in use. You can disable location access at any time in iOS Settings — some features will be unavailable without it.

We do not transfer your data to any other party for any other purpose, except where required by law (e.g. valid court order from a Norwegian or EU authority).

6. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time directly in the app: open Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Deletion is permanent and irreversible: your authentication record, profile, trip logs, incident reports, hazard markers, and participant data you uploaded are deleted from our database within 30 days. Apple subscription cancellation is handled separately by you in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; we do not have the ability to cancel your Apple subscription on your behalf.

If you cannot use the in-app deletion for any reason, email hello@daedalus-app.no from the address registered on your account and we will process the deletion manually within 30 days.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest in Supabase, row-level security policies, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and least-privilege access for our infrastructure. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users and Datatilsynet within 72 hours of becoming aware of a personal data breach as required by GDPR Art. 33–34.

9. Children

Daedalus is intended for use by professional outdoor leaders aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete the data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be notified to active users by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
